Imani Black Studios is an artist-run creative space rooted in Deep Ellum, shaped by the neighborhood’s culture, creativity, and long history of artistic expression.

Founded by Imani Black, the studio grew out of years of involvement within the local arts community through exhibitions, creative collaborations, and independent programming.

What began with attending concerts and connecting with creatives in Deep Ellum gradually evolved into curating exhibitions, producing community-centered art experiences, and building long-term relationships throughout the neighborhood.

Today, Imani Black Studios functions as a space for exhibitions, workshops, photo shoots, and creative collaboration while remaining open to interdisciplinary work influenced by photography and visual storytelling, including collage, mixed media, and installation.

With a focus on community, conversation, and creative exchange, the studio aims to support both emerging and established artists through thoughtful programming and collaborative experiences.
