About Us
Imani Black Studios is an artist-run creative space rooted in Deep Ellum, a neighborhood that has shaped its vision from the very beginning.
Founded by Imani Black, the studio reflects years of growth within the community. What began as spending time in Deep Ellum, going to concerts and connecting with creatives, evolved into creating within it.
In 2019, Imani curated her first exhibition at a local bar, later designing the Deep Ellum Wine Walk glass and curating a large group exhibition at a neighborhood coffee shop in 2022. In 2024, she was featured on a banner in the neighborhood, and now continues that momentum with her own studio space.
The studio is rooted in photography while remaining open to other mediums influenced by photographic thinking, including collage, mixed media, and visual storytelling.
